Although he misses Isma in particular, he is not able to visit her grove due to his duties and an oath that he swore. He hopes to meet the other Great Knights again and see Hallownest be reborn. The most loyal of the Five Great Knights, Ogrim is found in the Royal Waterways where he is known as " Dung Defender". While the False Knight who stole his shell wields a mace with an armoured bug attached to the end, Hegemol himself is always shown without any weapon. It is unknown whether Hegemol is alive after this or if he was murdered by the maggot. While Hegemol was sleeping, his armoured shell was stolen by a Maggot who wanted to defend his siblings. Ogrim mentions that he misses Hegemol's humour.Ī statue of Hegemol can be found outside the City of Tears, requiring the City Crest to open the gate to the city. He was a towering figure but soft spoken, which was surprising for somebody of his stature. He was the favourite Great Knight of Nailmaster Sheo, who calls him "Mighty Hegemol". Hegemol is the only Great Knight whose whereabouts are largely unknown. The White Lady is not aware of Dryya's death. There is not much known about Ze'mer when she was a Great Knight, but Ogrim remarks on how she told stories.Īfter her Mantis lover died, Ze'mer turned to mourning and retreated to her house in the Resting Grounds. She is not native to Hallownest, originating from "lands serene", a location from which she also brought Delicate Flowers. Sheo refers to her as "mysterious Ze'mer". Located in the Resting Grounds where she is known as the " Grey Mourner", Ze'mer is the only remaining Great Knight besides Ogrim. Beating him grants the Rivalry achievement. He is quite inept in combat and regularly messes up his jumps. He simply has to be attacked until the fight is over. As a boss, he deals no damage due to his nail being made of shellwood. He then becomes the final boss of the first trial. If the Knight saves him both times, he is captured and can be found in the resting area of the Colosseum of Fools, where he brags about his skills and how his capture was part of his plan. If saved, he once again complains about the Knight meddling in his supposed heroics. Once again the Knight has the choice to either save him or leave him, though this time leaving him does not result in his death. If he is not saved before acquiring the Mantis Claw, he dies in this location, with his nail and shell remaining. If saved, he complains that the Knight got in the way between him and his "prey", he introduces himself and boasts about his supposed mighty deeds. Despite this, Louise continued to work after "Gilligan" ended, co-starring with Dean Martin in the swinging action flick "The Wrecking Crew" (1968), taking a supporting role in the seminal sci-fi thriller "The Stepford Wives" (1975), and appearing in Robert Altman's teen comedy "O.C. Louise was the only cast member who refused to return for any of the post-series TV movies, and often claimed that the show ruined her career, as she was no longer seen as a serious actress. She fought often with producers, especially creator Sherwood Schwartz, over screen time (she originally thought Ginger was supposed to be the main character) and creative freedom. Though the show was beloved by fans, Louise's tenure on the show was not a happy one. The tale of a disparate bunch of castaways attempting to survive on an abandoned desert island, with comedic results, Ginger, the movie star, was originally written as a sharp-tongued diva, but Louise instead played her as a sexed up bombshell, a la Marilyn Monroe or Jayne Mansfield. However, Louise would book the role that came to define her when she was cast as Ginger Grant on "Gilligan's Island" (CBS, 1964-67). She was soon appearing in all sorts of pictures, ranging from film noir ("The Trap" ), to westerns ("The Hangman" and "Day of the Outlaw" ) to beach party comedies ("For Those Who Think Young" ). Louise made her film debut at age 24, with the drama "God's Little Acre" (1958). She soon began booking work as a model, often as a pinup girl. After attending Miami University in Ohio, Louise returned to New York, where she studied acting under the instruction of Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse. Louise earned her nom de fame when she complained to her high school drama teacher that she was the only girl in class who didn't have a middle name. Her parents divorced when she was 4, and she was raised mostly by her mother. Born Tina Blacker on Februin New York City to a candy store owner father and a fashion model mother, Louise began her screen career very early, appearing in an ad for her father's candy store at the age of 2. Tina Louise was an American actress who carved out a nearly six-decade long career for herself in film in television, though to her chagrin, she was mainly remembered for playing a glamorous movie star stranded on a desert island in one of the most popular sitcoms of all time. ![]() In this work, we present a novel approach to the airfoil shape optimization problem based on Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL). Hence, a data-driven approach bearing some creativity when exploring the design space is needed to successfully address the airfoil shape optimization problem. However, since these methods rely on provided datasets, performance is dependent on their quality and found solutions are constrained by the designer’s input 3. In particular, a data-driven approach to the problem at hand could help alleviate the high complexity associated with the underlying physics 10. To cope with this, supervised machine learning approaches to computational aerodynamic problems have been developed and have proven successful in addressing these limitations 10. Moreover, both gradient-based and gradient-free approaches are data-inefficient since they do not utilize the knowledge gained from previous experiments 3. ![]() However, these approaches are limited due to the high dimension of the design space to be explored as well as the prohibitive computational cost of running a large number of high-fidelity aerodynamic simulations 9. With numerical simulations, a gradient-based or gradient-free optimizer is used to guide the search towards the optimal shape. In exploring the associated high-dimensional design space, current approaches iteratively evaluate the performance of a large number of airfoils through either physical testing (wind tunnel testing) or numerical simulations (Computational Fluid Dynamics or CFD). All together, airfoil shape optimization is a challenging task 6, 7, 8. Since there is a potentially infinite number of airfoil shapes, the problem is characterized by high-dimensionality. In simpler terms, for a given desired performance, multiple shapes can exist 5. Solving inverse problems is generally more difficult due to the non-injective nature of the physical phenomena 3. Formally, airfoil inverse design is described as the prediction of airfoil shapes based on given desired performance metrics 4, making our problem an inverse design problem. Specifically, the problem at hand involves generating airfoils that achieve a desired performance. Relying on fluid mechanics, aerodynamic related problems exhibit non-linearity and are complex in nature 1, 3. Here, we focus on the optimization of airfoil shapes. An optimization process leading to an increase in the aerodynamic efficiency of aircraft components is needed. As such, its reduction could represent a 20 to 25% decrease in fuel burn 2 and lead to fewer emissions. For aircraft, aerodynamic drag represents the main source of energy losses 1. Similar content being viewed by othersĪs demand for air travel continues to grow, so are concerns regarding the environmental impacts of aviation. ![]() Overall, the presented approach demonstrates the relevance of DRL to airfoil shape optimization and brings forward a successful application of DRL to a physics-based aerodynamics problem. The strong resemblance between the artificially produced shapes and those found in the literature highlights the rationality of the decision-making policy learned by the agent. Results show that the DRL agent is able to generate high performing airfoils within a limited number of learning iterations. The learning abilities of the DRL agent are demonstrated through various experiments in which the agent’s objective-maximizing L/ D, maximizing C l or minimizing C d-as well as the initial airfoil shape are varied. A custom RL environment is developed allowing the agent to successively modify the shape of an initially provided 2D airfoil and to observe the associated changes in aerodynamic metrics such as lift-to-drag ( L/ D), lift coefficient ( C l) and drag coefficient ( C d). We formulate the airfoil design as a Markov decision process (MDP) and investigate a Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) approach to airfoil shape optimization. Reinforcement learning (RL) provides a data-driven approach bearing generative capabilities. Supervised learning approaches have addressed these limitations but are constrained by user-provided data. Current approaches relying on gradient-based or gradient-free optimizers are data-inefficient in that they do not leverage accumulated knowledge, and are computationally expensive when integrating Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation tools. However, the inherent complexity and non-linearity associated with fluid mechanics as well as the high-dimensional design space intrinsic to such problems make airfoil shape optimization a challenging task. Shape optimization is an indispensable step in any aerodynamic design. ![]() If you're looking for a magnesium supplement, it can get a little confusing: There are several different types of magnesium available that all sound vaguely similar but have slightly different functions. ![]() "If allowed to worsen, more significant symptoms like body numbness, abnormal muscle contractions, irregular heart rhythms and even seizures can occur.” “When you are deficient in magnesium, certain body functions tend to slow down or stop working altogether and can result in general symptoms like loss of appetite, fatigue, and nausea,” says Twigge. But certain conditions, such as being treated with diuretics, eating a very poor diet, GI diseases such as Crohn’s or celiac, alcoholism, severe vomiting or diarrhea or complications with type 2 diabetes can increase your risk for a magnesium deficiency. Now, even if you don’t get enough magnesium from what's on your plate, it’s unlikely you’ll have a true shortage (symptoms of that would include muscle weakness, irritability, sleepiness and depression). The best way to get that is through food. The average daily recommended amount of magnesium is 310-320 mg for adult women (teen girls and pregnant women need a little more, roughly 360), and 400-420 mg for adult men. Here's When to Pop That Magnesium Supplement.More Daily Magnesium Linked to Lower Dementia Risk. And a recent review of research has shown that magnesium supplementation in patients may lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure in people with type 2 diabetes “Given how many processes magnesium regulates in our bodies, deficiency can create a whole host of issues,” Meshulam adds. Some more intriguing magnesium news: A recent study from Australia found that dietary intake of magnesium was related to better brain health, especially in women. “Magnesium is a major mineral, meaning it is needed in larger amounts than other minerals, so it is important that we get sufficient amounts of magnesium in through our diet to help our body function properly.” “Interestingly, magnesium is also a key nutrient in the DASH diet and can help lower blood pressure,” adds Lauren Twigge, R.D.N., of Lauren Twigge Nutrition. ![]() It may even help you get a good night's sleep. “It serves as a cofactor, helping enzymes carry out various reactions in the body.” Some of magnesium’s important functions include blood sugar regulation, maintaining nerve and muscle function, keeping bones strong, boosting immunity and even helping keep your heartbeat steady. “Magnesium is involved in more than 300 chemical reactions in the body,” explains nutritionist Marissa Meshulam, R.D., of MPM Nutrition in New York. Magnesium sounds a little bit like a character in an X-Men movie - and in a way, the essential mineral found in many foods is a nutritional superhero. ![]() “I really hope Sky works out her relationship with Des and Genesis this is just really sad smh □ I hate to see them beef.” She established a tight-knit relationship with Des, whom she kept in contact with after the season ended, but had a hard time connecting with her eldest son.įans have offered their sympathy for Days and her boys, regarding their relationship. How can you use a call queue in your contact center? When an agent becomes available to take the call, they can be immediately connected to the caller through the call queue system. ![]() Callback: if the on-hold waiting time is too long or the calling queue is currently full, you can suggest that your customers leave the line but still keep their place in the queue.Call distribution and routing rules:with this, you can decide what method should be used for routing calls – to the least busy agent, someone with matching skills, or all to one agent in a certain group.Greetings and music:to make your callers’ on-hold times a bit more pleasant, you can upload recorded greetings, personalized messages, or music files that will be played while waiting for agents.Business hours rules: here, you can specify how calls should be handled when your contact center is open, but also how they should be dealt with during holidays, weekends, and out-of-hours.What else can you use a call queue system for? In the case that the hold time is especially long, the attendant can also ask a caller whether they wish to continue waiting in line or if they would prefer to leave their contact number for an agent to contact them later.ĭuring the time a caller stays on the line, you can also use pre-recorded messages to provide them with a personalized offer or to ask them to prepare any information that will be required for the case (like order number or customer ID). It can also help assist callers during the time they stay on hold. Through pre-recorded messages, an attendant can greet callers and inform them how many people are waiting in the queue or what the current hold time is. The main role of a call queue system is to route all incoming calls to the most suitable agent for the caller’s question. That both minimizes the risk of having to transfer calls (and we all know how much customers hate having to repeat their questions to several agents) and also helps callers get their problems solved faster.īut that’s not all a call queuing system can do. With a call queue attendant’s help, though, there’s no need for guesswork – they can give callers exactly the necessary information at that moment. And since callers don’t usually have enough information to find out which option would be the fastest, they mostly rely on making guesses. Waiting on hold might take several minutes waiting for an agent to answer, but hanging up the call means losing their current place and having to phone back another time. In this situation, from the caller’s perspective, they have only two choices: either wait until someone answers the call or hang up and try again later.īoth options come with a risk, though. So the waiting time might be only a minute or two, but it could be an hour. In virtual queues, clients can’t see the other callers or staff – there might be only 1 person waiting, or there may be 20, and the same goes for agents. The difference is that when standing in a physical line, customers can see how many people are ahead of them, and how many employees are working and can estimate the time they will have to keep waiting until their turn. ![]() When there are more callers than you can handle at a given moment, they get automatically lined up waiting so that you can serve them in the order they called – almost identically to a typical physical queue. Sounds useful? So let’s talk a bit today about what a call queue system is and how it can be of help to both your customers’ and agents. Wouldn’t it be much more helpful if callers could find out straight away how much time it should take for them to reach an agent? And in case the waiting time is long, to leave the call without losing their place in the queue? It would – and that’s exactly why call queue features were invented. It’s even worse, considering that, unlike a checkout or takeaway queue, there’s often no way of knowing how many callers are in line before you (unless stated) or how many agents are currently working. For the majority of us, doing that means we can expect either a long time waiting on hold or having to call multiple times just to get through. Having to wait on hold is one of the main reasons why customers dislike calling support lines.
![]() ![]() The first tomb of Lazarus in Bethany remains as a site for pilgrims to this very day. One day, he saw someone stealing a clay pot and he smiled saying, "the clay steals the clay". Little more is known about Lazarus after Our Lord's Resurrection and Ascension, except that during his thirty years after his resuscitation, he never smiled or joked except on one occasion, recorded in the Synaxarion. Having converted, blessed and established a new Christian community from the local idolaters they set sail for Cyprus and met with Lazarus.įurther establishing the apostolic nature of Lazarus' appointment, was the tradition that the bishop's omophorion and epimanikia were presented to Lazarus by the Virgin Mary, who had woven it herself. Unaware that divine providence had brought her to this area, the Virgin Mary completely taken by the beauty of the area, prayed to her son that this could be her garden devoted to prayer to "fight the good fight of faith". However on their journey, a great storm blew them off course and carried them to the shores of Ephesus and then the ship to the shores of Athos, Greece. With great joy, Lazarus sent a ship to the Holy Land to bring the Virgin Mary and John, the beloved disciple to Cyprus for a visit. She asked that he might send a ship to her that she might visit him in Cyprus. The Theotokos learned of his sorrow and sent him a letter to comfort him. Lazarus was very close to the Virgin Mary and he was very grieved that he could not return to Jerusalem to visit her (he was still in fear of the Jews). The religious hierarchy of the Jews at this time was dominated by Sadducees, who denied the resurrection. This event struck fear into the hearts of the Jewish leaders, so much so that they even considered putting Lazarus to death (John 12:9-11). John goes on to explain that even more Jews were convinced of Jesus' divinity. Jesus then called for the crowd to remove the wrappings and free him. Lazarus did so, still in his grave wrappings. In the presence of the mourners, the Lord ordered the stone rolled away from Lazarus' tomb and bade him to come forth. And whosoever believeth in me shall never die" (John 11:25-26, KJV). Martha mistook this for the universal resurrection on Judgment Day, to which He replied, "I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. When Martha reproached Our Lord for not arriving sooner, Christ assured her that Lazarus would rise. When He arrived, Lazarus had already been in his tomb for four days. The Lord tarried where He was, later perceiving Lazarus' death. On His way to Jerusalem before the Passover, the sisters had sent word to Jesus and His Apostles that Lazarus was ill. According to the Gospel of John, Lazarus lived in the town of Bethany (approximately two miles outside of Jerusalem in the present day West Bank) with his two sisters, Mary and Martha. |
